Who is Lifecolor Nederland?
Lifecolor Nederland is a specialist in the field of model building paint, scenery and diorama products. What once started as a pioneering project in the world of e-commerce, has now grown into a renowned name in the model building world – both nationally and internationally.
Our journey started in 2002 with Mol Plastic Modelbouw, a physical store that we later expanded with an innovative web shop: www.plasticmodelbouw.nl. This web shop was one of the first in the Netherlands with a fully automated system, including linked stock and payment modules – something that was revolutionary at the time.
As an IT specialist at one of the first Dutch internet providers, I experimented with everything that was ‘online’ in those years: web shops, online gaming and IP telephony. What started as a pilot project soon turned out to be a great success. In 2006 I quit my job to focus fully on the store.
Due to the economic crisis in 2008/2010, I decided to close the shop and sell the webshop to a Belgian colleague (minitair.be). But the passion for model building remained. In 2015, I was given the opportunity to represent Lifecolor Italy as a distributor and trade fair representative. This led to the founding of www.military-modelling.com on August 23, 2015.
In the years that followed, our range grew with quality brands such as Lifecolor, EZ-Line and Wingnut Wings. During the corona period, we expanded further with, among others, AK-Interactive and Robotime. Although Robotime later became mainstream and we sold the distribution in 2023, our ambition remained undiminished.
Today, we focus entirely on high-quality, niche products for model builders and diorama builders. Think of brands such as RT-Diorama, Modeltex and the traditional Dutch brand Lars op 't Hof. Our focus is on top-quality paint, scenery and accessories - especially for the passionate hobbyist and professional.
Our focus is on quality, craftsmanship and niche brands that are not found everywhere. We supply both hobbyists and professionals - with personal service, fast delivery and years of experience.
In August 2025, we will proudly celebrate our 10th anniversary as Lifecolor Netherlands and 23 years of involvement in the model building world. And we are far from finished. Together with our customers, suppliers and partners, we continue to build a future full of detail, creativity and craftsmanship."
